Versie Gilreath, age 74 of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mrs. Gilreath was a homemaker. She was born on July 24, 1931 in Bell County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Sawyer and Haley (Hensley) Carnes. She was also preceded in death by one son, Clarence A. Gilreath, two brothers and one half sister.
Mrs. Gilreath is survived by her husband - Herbert Gilreath, Sr.; seven children - Charles W. Carnes and wife Freda of Hamersville, Ohio, Herbert "James" Gilreath, Jr. of Georgetown, Ohio, Barbara Ann Gilreath of Hillsboro, Ohio, Marinda McCoy of West Palm Beach, Florida, Wanda Sue Bullis and husband Mike of Georgetown, Ohio, Charlene Holt and husband Douglas of Deer Park, Ohio and Dorothy Jean Schroth and husband Brian of Taylor Mill, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren; four brothers - Lester Carnes and wife Emma Jean of Erlanger, Kentucky, Jimmy Carnes of Grays, Kentucky, Ellis Carnes of Bimble, Kentucky and Charles Carnes of Flat Lick, Kentucky and eleven sisters - Pearl Williams of Tennessee, Lucille Miller of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, Ethel Hoskins of Mississippi, Edith Brown of Flat Lick, Kentucky, Gladys Fee of Walker, Kentucky, Arlene Asher of RJ, Kentucky, Phyllis Johnson of Barbersville, Kentucky, Judy Marion and Lena Fargo both of Bimble, Kentucky, Susie and Peggy Brown both of Scalf, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Scott Hennig will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. Friday. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
