Shirley M. Lucas Parker, age 68 of Decatur, Ohio died Monday, November 7, 2005 at her residence. She was a homemaker, a member of the Decatur Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ripley, Ohio and the DAV, and a former member of the Russellville Life Squad. Mrs. Parker was also very involved with the Decatur Community Center and also wrote the Decatur news for the Ripley Bee. She was born on September 23, 1937 in Higginsport, Ohio the daughter of the late Fred and Clotina (Rice) Adams. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Franklin D. Lucas and Chester Parker and an infant brother, James Adams.
Mrs. Parker is survived by one daughter, Lori Cox and husband Troy of Decatur, Ohio; one son, Franklin Dale Lucas of Decatur, Ohio; four grandchildren- Brett Cox and wife Tara of Charleston, S.C., Justin and Ashley Cox of Decatur, Ohio and Amanda Lucas of Ripley, Ohio; one sister, Bernice Jane Wagner of Decatur, Ohio; two brothers, Glenn and Weldon Adams, both of Decatur, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, November 12, 2005 at The Decatur Methodist Church in Decatur, Ohio. Rev. David Wirth will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday, November 11 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Interment will be in The Decatur Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: The Decatur Community Center.
