Roger Wayne Adkins

Roger Wayne Adkins, age 92 of Georgetown, Ohio died Friday, June 14, 2024 at the Villa Georgetown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Georgetown, Ohio. He was born August 12, 1931 on Newcombe Creek in Elliot County, Kentucky the oldest of seven children born to the late Orville and Berniece (Rice) Adkins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his previous wife - Eva (Fouch) Battson Adkins in 2009 and two brothers - Carl Adkins and Gary Adkins.

Mr. Adkins was involved in several business ventures including founding and operating the Hamer Corporation.  He was active civically, serving as Mayor of the Village of Hamersville for sixteen years, a member of the Brown County Planning Commission, which he chaired for several years and a trustee for the Brown County General Hospital Foundation. Roger was a member of the Georgetown F&AM Lodge #72 becoming a Master Mason and Scottish Rite in 1954 and member of Georgetown Chapter #4 R.A.M.

Roger is survived by his wife – Connie (Gilkison) Koehler Pollitt Adkins; one son - Roy Adkins and wife Karen; one daughter -  Jacquilyn Drake and husband Bob; six step-sons - Tony Koehler and wife Vickie, Tim Koehler and wife Natalie, Troy Koehler and wife Wray, Tracy Koehler and wife Vickie, Ryan Pollitt and William Battson and wife Cindy; five grandchildren - Nikkia Scherrer and husband Jake, Matthew Adkins, Grant Adkins, Jonathan Adkins and Candace Hopkins and husband Heath; two step-grandchildren - Alli Hamilton and husband Adam and Ethan Battson and four sisters - Marjorie Hodson, Evelyn Dimmit, Billie Jo Fagin and Janie Prather.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio.  Pastor Dave Warren will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 7:00 P.M.  Interment will be in Bethel Tate Cemetery in Bethel, Ohio.
