Robert Arthur Williams

Mr. Robert A. Williams, age 77, of Ripley, Ohio and formerly of Youngstown, Ohio, died Friday, July 1, 2005 at Brown Co. General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran, an elder at The Ripley First Presbyterian Church and he retired as Senior Vice-President of Engineering and Marketing at Glowe-Smith Industrial of Warren, Ohio. He was also a member of the Association for Iron & Steel Technology, ASME, the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and other professional organizations.

Mr. Williams was born on April 27, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of the late Thomas T. and Frances (Coleman) Williams. He was also preceded in death by three sisters - Mildred Graff, Ruth Rosche and Frances Toney and two brothers - Thomas and Paul Williams.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susan Rogers Williams; one son, Robert Jeffrey Williams and wife Ann of Hull, Ma.; one daughter, Elizabeth Bennett and husband Samuel of Libertyville, Illinois; three grandchildren - Samantha, Alice and Benjamin Williams and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 3, 2005 at the family residence, 125 North Second Street, in Ripley. Rev. James Rawlings will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the house. A graveside service will be held in the future at the convenience of the family.
