Philip Lee Hines, Jr., "Tuck" as he was affectionately known by all, age 41 of Higginsport, Ohio, died Friday, September 8, 2006 at University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Ripley Union Lewis High School/Southern Hills JVS in 1983, where he was in the welding program. He then joined the United States Navy and was assigned to the USS Fairgate. Most recently he was employed at Ripley Metal Works in Ripley, Ohio. Tuck loved to hunt, fish, collect arrow heads, roast hogs, cook, do things for other people and party. Tuck was born in Georgetown, Ohio on October 20, 1964 the son of Ruth "Sissy" Thompson and Philip Hines, Sr.. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Kirschner; grandfather, George Hines and one aunt, Lula Kirschner.
Tuck is survived by his mother, Ruth "Sissy" Thompson and stepfather, Dwight Thompson of Higginsport, Ohio; his father, Philip Hines, Sr. of Williamsburg, Ohio; his son, Dylan Hines and stepdaughter Jessica Lane, both of Higginsport, Ohio; three sisters - Malanie Hines of Ft. Thomas, KY., Emmylou Hines of Taylor Mills, KY. and Kristen Hines of Amelia, Ohio; one step brother and two step sisters - Brian Thompson, Alicia Poynter and Marie Lynott, all of Ripley, Ohio; Grandfather - Steve Kirschner of Higginsport, Ohio; Grandmother - Eileen Hines of Higginsport, Ohio; two nieces - Jenna Ruth Redmond of Taylor Mills, KY. and Bethany Parsins of Amelia, Ohio; many aunts and uncles - Hubie and Wilma Stutz of Felicity, Ohio; John Kirschner, Fred and Bonita Kirschner of Higginsport, Ohio; Gary "Nick" Kirschner, Larry and Wanda Prater of Ripley, Ohio; Joe and Julie Kirschner of Bethel, Ohio; Linda Kirschner of Russellville, Ohio; Paul and Barbara Hines of Williamsburg, Ohio; Cindy Perkins of Felicity, Ohio; Diana and Wayne Johnson, Larry and Toni Ann Hines of Georgetown, Ohio and Georgie Hines of Higginsport, Ohio; many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev John Neu will officiate. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Dylan Hines Trust Fund, C/O The Citizens Bank of Higginsport.
