Michael D. Haitz

Michael D. Haitz, age 56, of Ripley, Ohio died Monday, October 17, 2005 at his residence after a long illness. Mr. Haitz was a 30 year employee of Dayton Power & Light before his illness. He was also known for his love of cars and friends. He was born in Brown County, Ohio on September 30, 1949 the son of the late Joe William and Hestel Faye (Swearingen) Haitz. He was also preceded in death by one brother, James Dale Haitz.

Mr. Haitz is survived by his wife of 16 years, Jean (Keethler) Haitz; one very special stepdaughter, Jinger Barefoot and husband, Tracy of Dunn, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Taylor Barefoot; two sisters - Cora Sue Leonard and husband, Albert of Ripley, Ohio and Nancy Fauvor and husband, Ron of Columbus, Ohio; three brothers - Bill Haitz and wife, Diana of Cincinnati, Ohio, Steve Haitz of Las Vegas, Nevada and Richard Haitz and wife, Marsha of Ripley, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 21, 2005 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Clark Castle will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 - 9 P.M. Thursday evening. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the Ripley Life Squad.
