Melody Kay Mcafee

Melody Kay McAfee, age 64 of Georgetown, Ohio passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at her residence. She held many titles and positions over the years working for the Ripley Union Lewis Huntington School District in the summers, a waitress at the Friendly Fosters in Ripley, Ohio, worked at Keep Fit and helped in the kitchen at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabiliation Center. Most recently she worked at the Gingerbread House Daycare in Mt.Orab, Ohio until her health declined. She loved working with the children at the daycare and loved running into the children outside of work because they would run up to her yelling “that’s Miss Meldie” and give her a big hug. Melody was a member of the Georgetown Church of Christ in Georgetown, Ohio and loved her Lord. She was born September 8, 1959 in Georgetown, Ohio the daughter of the late Everett Harlan and Mary Ethel (Charles) McAfee. Melody had a very loving relationship with her mother whom was a great comfort and friend to her. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother.

Ms. McAfee is survived by three brothers; five sisters, extended family, friends, loved ones and her companion of 30 years – Kevin Bohl of Georgetown, Ohio.

To honor Melody’s wishes, private services will be held at the convenience of the family and her loved ones. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family
