Mary S. Frye

Mrs. Mary Belle Stephenson Frye, age 85 of Ripley, Ohio, died Monday, July 10, 2006 at The Villa Georgetown Nursing Home in Georgetown, Ohio, where she had spent the last few years of her life. She was born on May 17, 1921, the only child of the late Eddie B. and Clarace (Glaze) Stephenson.

Mary graduated from Ripley High School in 1939 and then attended the Marinello School of Cosmetology in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was employed as a beautician in Georgetown and Ripley before moving to Cincinnati. During the war, she worked for the Corker Brown Lamp Co. distributing war stamps for shoes and gasoline. Later, she was the bookkeeper for the Widmer and the Clark Dry Cleaning establishments.

After Mary's retirement in 1974, she and her husband George moved to the Naples area of Florida. Still loving Ohio, she and her husband owned homes in Cincinnati and Ripley, where they spent at least six months of the year. After the death of her mother, Mary attended the Ripley Church of the Nazarene as long as her health would allow.

Mary leaves to mourn her beloved husband for over 65 years, George Frye, who has lovingly cared for her since her health began to fail. She also leaves several sisters and brothers in law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Clark Castle will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio.
