Martha Kay (Kirk) Polley

Martha Kay Polley, age 72 of Ripley, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Adams County Regional Medical Center in Seaman, Ohio. She was a retired business owner and art teacher and a member of the Ripley Church of Christ in Ripley, Ohio. Martha was a loving wife, mother, mamaw, a beautiful soul to everyone that she encountered and was selfless and giving. She loved to tend to her garden and flowers beds, was an artist, loved to bake yummy treats, sell antiques and enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren and always had a prize for everyone. Martha was born May 16, 1952 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late Joseph Daniel “Dan” and Hazel Lucille (Regenstein) Kirk. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law – Herbert Polley, Sr. and two brothers-in-law – Jack Knechtly and Jerry Wagner.

Mrs. Polley is survived by her loving husband of 53 years – Junior Polley whom she married January 16, 1971; two daughters – Chanda Asher and husband Paul of Ripley, Ohio and Myra Jimison and husband Jason of Loveland, Ohio; five grandchildren – Macy Spires (Liv Chadwell) of Danville, Kentucky, Mya Spires of Ripley, Ohio, Jeg Jimison and Zane Jimison both of Loveland, Ohio and Cadence Spires of Mineral Wells, West Virginia; two great grandchildren – Gracelynn McLain and Asher Wittekind; eight brothers and sisters – Joyce Knechtly of Mt.Orab, Ohio, Sonja Wagner of Russellville, Ohio, Patricia Smith and husband Lonny of Inverness, Florida, Betty Merchant and husband Wes of Zephyrhills, Florida, Danny Joe Kirk and wife Bonita of Ripley, Ohio, Constance Karls and husband Daniel of McComb, Ohio, Don Paul Kirk and wife Jackie of Sardinia, Ohio and Ray Kirk and wife Pam of Ripley, Ohio; mother-in-law – Jane Polley of Ripley, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the Ripley Church of Christ, 105 North 3rd Street, Ripley, Ohio 45167. John Neu will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the Red Oak Cemetery near Ripley, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio is serving the family.
