Marie Dunn Swope

Marie Dunn Swope, age 100, born June 23, 1904 died October 23, 2004 with her family at her side in her home at Wesley Ridge, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Marie was graduated from Georgetown High School when all 12 grades were in the Grant Avenue School. Although Georgetown was always her home, she and her husband, Frances, also lived in New York City, Pittsburgh, Florida and Columbus. After her husband's death in 1966, she returned to her hometown to be close to her aging mother. When she was 79, Marie married her second husband, Harley Norris, and after a few years, she was once again a widow. She lived alone until, at 97, she moved to Reynoldsburg to be closer to her family.She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emma Dunn; her sisters, Mildred Cooper and Mary Web and her two husbands.

Mrs. Swope is survived by her son, Richard Swope and daughter-in-law Katie Anderson Swope of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; her four grandchildren - Jeff (Kathy)Swope of Indianapolis, Indiana; Judith Dufault of New York, New York; Kristy (Mike) of Bexley, Ohio and Andrew (Pam) Swope of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; six great grandchildren - Jessica, Jayme and Jacob Swope; Henry and Sam Paplow and Julia Dufault.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, October 25, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. Kevin Whitsett officiated. Interment was in Confidence Cemetery.
