Mr. Loyd D. Garrett, age 53 of Aberdeen, Ohio died suddenly and unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, September 25, 2004 of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Garrett was a supervisor of operations at the Dayton Power and Light for thirty years and most recently was a boiler inspector for the state of Ohio. He was born on December 16, 1950 the son of the late Ray and Lena (Aker) Garrett.
Mr. Garrett is survived by his wife, Lisa (Grierson) Garrett; one daughter, Nicki Fulton and husband, Eric of Ripley, Ohio; one son, Nathan Garrett and fiance, Whitney Gifford of Georgetown, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Jamie Grierson; one stepson, Zachary Stamper; two sisters - Barbara Hyatt of Columbia, Tennessee and Juanita Herbert of Florida; and one brother, Harold Garrett of Flemingsburg, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 30, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Pastor John Conley will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. There will also be a celebration of Loyd's life held at Snapper's in Ripley on Wednesday evening from 6 - 11 P.M. After paying their respects at the funeral home, everyone is invited to share in the celebration of Loyd's life at Snappers. If desired, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Hope, 415 1/2 Home St., Georgetown, OH 45121.
