Lloyd (Chub) Edward Hammond, Sr

Lloyd Edward (Chub) Hammond,Sr., age 73 of Hamersville, Ohio died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Hammond was a construction superintendent, a member of the New Harmony F&AM Lodge # 435 and a member of the Hamersville Baptist Church. He was born on June 12, 1934 in Chillicothe, Ohio the son of the late Arthur R. and Florence E. (Sharp) Hammond. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Mae Hammond and one brother, Clyde C. Hammond.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years - Beatrice (Gumm) Hammond; six children - Teresa Georgin and husband Gary of Cincinnati, Ohio; Lloyd Edward Hammond, Jr. of Tampa, Florida; Janet Boshears of Amelia, Ohio; Rita Keeney of Felicity, Ohio; Dorothea Seaman of Hamersville, Ohio and David Hammond of Arkansas; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four sisters - Thelma Smith of Chillicothe, Ohio; Joyce Saltier of North Carolina, Carol Yates of North Carolina, and Naomi Wood of Chillicothe, Ohio; two brothers - Alton and Rockford Hammond both of Chillicothe, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 6, 2007 at the Hamersville Baptist Church.  Brother Joe Childress will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Church. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.  Memorial contributions may be made to:  The Hamersville Baptist Church Building Fund,  1661 State Route 125,  Hamersville, Ohio  45130. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
