Lionell Clyde Davis, age 94 of Higginsport, Ohio died Thursday, January 20, 2005 at The Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley, Ohio. He was a coal miner, he worked for the railroad and owned and operated the Hiport Restaurant and Bar in Higginsport, Ohio for many years. He was also a United States Army World War II Veteran, a member of the Ripley Church of Christ, a volunteer for Hospice of Hope, a member of the Brown County Historical Society, a life member of the Carey Bavis American Legion Post # 180 in Georgetown, Ohio, a life member of the Veteran Of Foreign Wars Post #7946 in Felicity, Ohio, a life member of the 447th Bombardier Group, a member of the Order of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #72 in Georgetown, Ohio and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Mr. Davis was born on July 22, 1910 in Pond Creek, Kentucky the son of the late McClellan and Nellie (King) Davis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Irene (Boone) Davis in 1993; four sisters - May Josephine Gilliland, Virginia Blanch Davis, Francis Lois McDowell and Juanita Annis Yhus.

Mr. Davis is survived by three nieces - Loretta Boone Funk of Ripley, Ohio, Michael McDowell Harris of Holiday, Texas and Belinda Fulmer of California; three sisters-in-law, Betty Boone Davis and Marjorie Davis both of Florida and Evelyn Boone Jenkins of Ripley, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. John Neu will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday, January 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Masonic services by the F and AM Lodge #72 of Georgetown, Ohio will be held at 7:45 P.M. Monday evening. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. Veterans services will be provided by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180 of Georgetown, Ohio.
