Laura Snell

Laura "Bea" (Fussnecker) Snell, age 97 of Ripley, Ohio died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at Maria Joseph Care Center in Dayton, Ohio. She worked at the Works Progress Administration (WPA) for many years and volunteered as a seamstress for many school functions in the Ripley area. Mrs. Snell was born on October 10, 1907 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late Frank and Laura Fussnecker. She was also preceded in death by four brothers - Earl, Raymond, Russell and William Fussnecker; four sisters - Emma Meinecke, Esther Bartley, Hazel Spronk and Rose Nell Hood.

Bea is survived by her daughter, Pauline Grattan of Brighton, Michigan; six grandchildren - Kevin (Karen) Grattan of Cedar Springs, MI.; Keith Grattan of Farmington, MI.; Chris Grattan of Farmington Hills, MI.; Laurie (Nick) Stockelman of Howell, MI.; Les (Suzanne) Grattan of Charlotte, NC. and Dan (Laura) Grattan of Howell, MI.; fourteen great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. A private burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to: The Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post # 367, 2944 Elk River Rd. Ripley, Ohio 45167.
