Larry James Lewis, age 78, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio.  He was a carpenter and a United States Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran.  He was born March 22, 1946 in Springfield, Ohio the son of the late Farley Rhanor and Mary Virginia (Wirkner) Lewis.  He was also preceded in death by his wife – Alice Faye Lewis and a nephew – Joshua Lewis Gray.

Mr. Lewis was a free spirit that loved nature and animals (especially horses and dogs), working on cars and racing cars, bluegrass music, playing the banjo, playing the harmonica and singing.  He was a master carpenter and woodworker and  enjoyed attending church services at the Ohio Veterans Home.

Mr. Lewis loved his family and is survived by two daughters – Jazett Shivers (Billy) of Ayden, North Carolina and Jennifer Harris (Michael) of Grifton, North Carolina; five grandchildren – Amber, Trent, Dylan, Natalie and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren – Ryan and Nile; two sisters – Linda Lewis-Day (William) of Canal Winchester, Ohio and Marsha Gray (Don) of Springfield, Missouri; three nieces – Julie Hayes, Molly Desha and Emily Lewis; one nephew – Timothy Gray; one great niece – Catherine Lewis; two great nephews – London and Connor Hayes.

Military Honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio.  They will be performed by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180 of Georgetown, Ohio.
