Joyce Louise (Berninger) Martin

Joyce Louise Martin,(nee Berninger) age 83 of Georgetown, Ohio died Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Villa Georgetown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Georgetown, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a longtime member, Deacon and secretary of the Ripley Presbyterian Church. She also was a fifty year member of the Russellville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Joyce loved gardening, cooking and for many years worked as an Avon sales representative. She was born May 20, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of the late Melvin and Hazel (Uffelman) Berninger, formerly of Milan, Indiana.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband of sixty-three years – Thomas G. Martin, whom she married August 17, 1957; two children – Christie DeClaire and best friend Dean Shafer of Georgetown, Ohio and Thomas A. Martin and wife Tonia of Florida; six grandchildren – Courtney Hatfield (Jamie), Carly Beasley (Justin) all of Georgetown, Ohio, Katie Baum (Rudy), Thomas D., Timothy and Kelli Martin of Florida; five great grandchildren – Grant, Cole, and Mac Beasley and Remington and Roxanne Baum; two brothers – Don Berninger (Sharon) of Georgia and Dale Berninger (Danette) of Cincinnati, Ohio and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Private Graveside Services will be held Sunday, June 20, 2021at the convenience of the family at the Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Wayne Reveal will officiate. There will be no visitation. The Cahall Funeral home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
