Mr. Jerry L. Haitz, age 65 of Georgetown, Ohio, died Monday, May 9, 2005 at his residence. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator from the Operating Engineers Local #18. He was also a United States Army Veteran, a member of The National Muzzleloading Association, a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of The Oddfellows Lodge in Maysville, KY.. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Mr. Haitz was born on July 14, 1939 in Ripley, Ohio the son of the late Albert Leon "Boots" and Edna (Hauke) Haitz.

Mr. Haitz is survived by his wife, Judy (North) Haitz; one daughter, Jerri Kristin McKenzie and husband Randy of Ripley, Ohio; one son, Troy Prather Haitz and wife Kim of Ripley, Ohio; two grandchildren - Klay McKenzie and Tonya Bunch, both of Ripley; one sister, Virginia Dugan and husband James of Aberdeen, Ohio; two nephews, David and Darin Dugan of Aberdeen, Ohio; father and mother-in-law, Howard and Bonnie North of Mt. Orab, Ohio. He was beloved by all his family and friends and will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 13, 2005 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Scotty Grooms will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, May 12 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio.
