Jack L. Wood

Jack L. Wood, age 83 of Mt.Orab, Ohio passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at his residence. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for 43 years for the John R. Jurgensen Company,  a member and deacon of the Monterey Baptist Church in Batavia, Ohio and enjoyed fishing, golfing and collecting guns. Jack was born August 18, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Aaron and Lois (Veer) Wood. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother – Maggie Wood, one grandson – Anthony Wood, one brother – Lloyd Wood, two sisters-in-law – Linda Wood and Jackie Wood, two step-brothers- Albert Kelly and Kenny Kelly and two step-sisters - Norsy Short and Cleda Short.

Mr. Wood is survived by his loving wife of 63 years – Peggy (Barber) Wood whom he married July 1, 1961; two sons – Greg Wood and Bruce Wood and wife Mickie both of Mt. Orab, Ohio; six grandchildren – Daniel Hageman and wife Kati of Cincinnati, Ohio, Courtney Spires and husband Brad of Batavia, Ohio, Matthew Wood and wife Jessica of Mt.Orab, Ohio, Ashley Fajardo and husband Eddie of Seattle, Washington, Devyn Wood and wife Haylee and Merissa Wood both of Bowling Green, Kentucky; one step-grandson – Wyatt Whitaker of Reading, Ohio; eight great grandchildren – Hayden and Georgia Hageman, Scarlet and Rheya Spires, Issac, Leo and Isandro Fajardo and Zen Wood; one brother – Doug Wood of Williamsburg, Ohio; one sister – Tersea Wilson of Sardinia, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt.Orab, Ohio. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Greenbush Cemetery near Mt.Orab, Ohio.
