Irene (Baker) Cornett

Irene Cornett, age 72 of Georgetown, Ohio died Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at her residence. She was retired from the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Irene was born December 16, 1950 in Berea, Kentucky the daughter of the late Dallas Louis and Ruby Rea (Thomas) Baker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers – James Ray Baker, Clay Baker and Nelson Baker.

Mrs. Cornett is survived by her loving husband of 51 years – Elmer Cornett whom she married May 13, 1972; two children – Keri Fridel and husband Jimi of Russellville, Ohio and Justin Cornett and wife Emily of Blanchester, Ohio; six grandchildren – Logan Tull and wife Kelci, Corban Cornett, Mikalya McKenze and husband Jon, Hannah Groh and husband Andrew, Madison Cornett and fiancé Jeff and Brayden Cornett and fiancé Harley; four great grandchildren – Leyton Groh, Brodie Allen, Gunner Lee and Elliana Tull; two brothers – Danny Baker and wife Donna and Vern Baker and wife Pat both of Hamersville, Ohio; two sister – Shirley Henson of Mowrystown, Tennessee and Joan Robinson and husband Don of Batavia, Ohio and many step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Confidence Cemetery gazebo. Jason Galley will officiate. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
