Helen M. Howard

Helen M. Howard, age 86 of Ripley, Ohio died Friday, February 4, 2005 at The Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley, Ohio. She was retired from Keep Fit in Ripley, Ohio and was a member of The Ripley Church of Christ. Ms. Howard was born on July 6, 1918 in Fleming County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Forrest and Ella (Helphenstein) Carpenter. She was also preceded in death by one son, Tommy Howard; one sister Dorothy Conrad and her lifetime companion, Estell "Buck" McLain.

Ms. Howard is survived by one son, Virgil "Gene" Howard and wife Wanda of Ripley, Ohio; three daughters - Carolyn Wilson and husband Jack of Ripley, Ohio, Judith Dunbar and husband Ronald of Pasadena, Texas and Paula Washington and husband Cliff of Beavercreek, Ohio; nineteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; seventeen great great-grandchildren; three brothers - Forrest Carpenter, Jr. of Brookesville, Ohio; Glenn Carpenter of Felicity, Ohio and Robert Carpenter of Ripley, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. John Neu will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 9 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to: The Ripley Life Squad or Hospice of Hope.
