Gladys Marie Grant

Gladys Marie (Pharris) Grant, age 77, of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mrs. Grant was a member of the Delaney Chapel A.M.E. Church and worked several jobs during her lifetime, retiring from the General Telephone Company. She was born in Cookeville, Tennessee on October 26, 1928 the daughter of the late Dave and Alice (Farley) Pharris. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, three brothers - George, Oscar and Wilbur Pharris; two sisters - Jewel Pharris and Lula London and two grandsons - Jr. Delaney and Jarrel Thomas.

Mrs. Grant is survived by her husband of 50 years, Elwood Grant; seven daughters - Jewelene Commodore and Angela Brown both of Maysville, Kentucky, Diane Lightfoot and husband, Tom, Pam Jones, Cheryl Lewis and husband, Mike all of Georgetown, Ohio, Ginger Delaney of Columbus, Ohio and Michelle Grant of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sons - David Delaney and wife Lee, Tommy Grant and wife Gigi and Dale Delaney all of Georgetown, Ohio; one sister Juanita Hinton of Falmouth, Kentucky; 28 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 24, 2006 at the Georgetown United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 P.M. Saturday evening at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
