George Richard Poe
October 19, 1922 — June 4, 2005
Mr. George Richard Poe, age 82 of Ripley, Ohio, died Saturday, June 4, 2005 at the Villa Georgetown Nursing Home in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a United States Army Air Force WWII Veteran, a master mechanic and a member of the Ripley Lion's Club. Mr. Poe was born on October 19, 1922 in Ripley, Ohio the son of the late Leslie and Helen (DeFosse) Poe. He was also preceded in death by one son, George Poe, Jr..
Mr. Poe is survived by three grandsons - Thomas Poe of Ripley, Ohio, Jeffrey and Michael Poe of East Hampton, Connecticut and four great-grandchildren.
Following cremation, a graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 10, 2005 at Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. David Wirth will officiate. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #367 of Ripley, Ohio.
