Floyd Simpson

Floyd Simpson, age 87, of Hamersville, Ohio died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. Mr. Simpson retired from General Motors after 33 years, was a World War II Army veteran, a farmer and attended the Felicity Church of the Nazarene. He was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on June 26, 1919 the son of the late Joseph and Emma (Davenport) Simpson. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Verona (Holland) Simpson; one grandson, Daryl Simpson; two brothers - Red and Lane Simpson; two half sisters and two half brothers.

Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife of 29 years - Anomalous (Daniel) Simpson; eight children - Floyd Lee Simpson of New Carlisle, Ohio; Sandra Sue Monaco of Tipp City, Ohio; Beverly Ann Eldridge of Portsmouth, Ohio; Wanda Noreen Graef of Vandalia, Ohio; Waite Hoyte Simpson of Portsmouth, Ohio; Leslie C. Simpson of Troy, Ohio; Johnny Damon Simpson of New Lebanon, Ohio and Mark Allen Simpson of Laura, Ohio; one step son, Israel Clifford Truesdell of Milford, Ohio; 16 grandchildren - Tammy, Vincent, Kimberly, Tina, Jeff, Renee, Chad, Brent, Brandon, Adam, Tyler, Alicia, Jason, Rachel, Tosha and Todd; 14 great grandchildren - Brandon, Cameron, Sean, Marissa, Kristen, Elizabeth, Jeffrey II, Brittany, Devon, Alex, Austin, Dylan, Caleb and Tyler; one brother, Foster Simpson of Russellville, Ohio and his favorite cow, Red.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the New Carlisle Cemetery in New Carlisle, Ohio, with military services at the graveside.
