Eugene Brooks

Eugene Arthur Hamblin Brooks, age 72 of Ripley, Ohio died Sunday, July 4, 2004 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Brooks attended Germantown Elementary School and was a graduate of John G. Fee High School. He had been employed at General Electric and General Motors. Mr. Brooks was a member of the Augusta Methodist Church. He lived in Cincinnati for several years before moving to Ripley with his brother. He was born on July 31, 1931 in Augusta, Kentucky the son of the late Burgess and Mildred Brooks. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond (Lucille) Brooks and Edward Brooks and one sister, Lorene Boyd.

Mr. Brooks is survived by one daughter - Audra Brooks of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother - John (Emma Jane) Brooks of Ripley, Ohio; one sister - Gertrude (Harrison) Beeler of Zionsville, Indiana; six nieces - Valerie Davis, Audrey Vandivier, Rita Mobley, Melissa Chambers, Marilyn Johnson and Ramona Coleman; eleven nephews - Kenny Brooks, Kent Brooks, Tony Beeler, Baron Brooks, Johnny Brooks, Vincent Brooks, Josh Coleman, Randy Brooks, David Boyd, Chris Boyd and T.A. Boyd and many cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Saturday, July 10, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. James Settles will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 - 12 Saturday. Interment will be in the Red Oak Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio.
