Emma Isabelle Hauke

Mrs. Emma Isabelle Hauke, age 97, of Ripley, Ohio died Monday, July 11, 2005 at The Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley, Ohio, where she has been been a resident since May of 1999. She worked as a medical secretary for Ripley physician Dr. Prine for a number of years, and then for Dr. Lyle Franz until 1948. For a period of time during the years of WWII, while Dr. Franz served in the in the military overseas, Emma worked for Charles Phillips, the Superintendent of Ripley Schools. She was an active, lifetime member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio and a charter member of both the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Auxiliary #367 and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was also a member of St. Michael's Rosary Altar Society for many years and was known for her lovely knitting work.

Mrs. Hauke was born on November 16, 1907 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late Martin and Appollonia (Mussinan) Klinker. She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Louis Hauke; her three brothers - Raymond, Louis and Clarence Klinker; one sister, Mary VanHoesen; one niece, Lois Jean Dragoo.

She is survived by one niece, Shirley Voelker of Marietta, Ohio and two nephews, Randall Klinker of Cincinnati, Ohio and Rick Klinker of Ripley, Ohio.

Mass of christian burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 14, 2004 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with an American Legion Auxiliary Service at 7:00 P.M. and a Prayer Service at 7:10 P.M.. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
