Eleanor H. Hornsby

Mrs. Eleanor H. Hornsby, age 70, of Higginsport, Ohio died Thursday, June 24, 2004 at Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio. She was employed by the U.S. Shoe Corporation for thirty-six years and was a member of the Higginsport Christian Church. Mrs. Hornsby was born on May 27, 1934 in Mason County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy (Davenport) Starrett. She was also preceeded in death by one son, William Dale "Tootie" Hornsby, Jr.; one sister, Bessie Boggs; one brother, William P. Starrett and one granddaughter, Christina Starrett.

Mrs. Hornsby is survived by her husband, William Dale Hornsby, Sr.; six children - Roger Allan Starrett of Winchester, Ohio; Robert Gilbert Starrett of Georgetown, Ohio; Sandra Maylee White of Maysville, Kentucky; Donald Walter Hornsby of Higginsport, Ohio; Virginia F. Shannon of Georgetown, Ohio; Virgie F. Luck of Hamersville, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers - Elmer Lee Starrett of Cincinnati, Ohio and Franklin Ray Starrett of S. Lebanon, Ohio; five sisters - Mary Belle Becraft of Georgetown, Ohio; Barbara Jean Crawford of Higginsport, Ohio; Sue Davis of Ripley, Ohio; Linda O'Cull of Russellville, Ohio and Sharon Ann McCray of Georgetown, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Pastor Bill Arnold will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Saturday evening. Interment will be in Pisgah Ridge Cemetery, Ripley, Ohio. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Higginsport Christian Church.
