Edward A. Roberto, age 80 of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at the Meadowwood Care Center in Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Roberto received his bachelor of science degree in psychology and business from Ohio University in 1949 and his masters degree in 1954 from the Ohio State University. Mr. Roberto had thirty-six years of management experience, twenty-nine of those years as chief executive officer for small rural hospitals and nursing home operations. He served as Assistant Administration Officer from 1956 to 1959 in Sandusky, Ohio; As an Assistant Administrator in Monongahela, Pennsylvania for a year before coming to Georgetown, Ohio as President and Chief Executive Officer At the Brown County General Hospital from 1960 until 1982. From 1982 until 1986 he was President of a consulting service for health care in Beckley, West Virginia and then was Vice-President of Rural Health Services until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Roberto was affiliated with the American College of Healthcare Executives (former Ohio regent), the American College of Health Care Administrators (Fellow), Ohio Hospital Association (Past Board Chairman), Regional Hospitals Council (Past President), Ohio Health Department Statewide Health Council (Past Chairman), Ohio Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, a former member of the Georgetown Exempted Village School District Board of Education, a former board member of the Safety Building & Loan, a World War II Army veteran and was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Arnheim, Ohio. He was born on December 31, 1924 in Canton, Ohio the son of the late Salvatore and Angela (DeStefano) Roberto. He was also preceded in death by his wife Doris Mae (Leslie) Roberto in 2002.

Mr. Roberto is survived by two daughters - Leslie Anne Arrington and husband Rev. Steve of Springfield, Ohio and Christine G. Layman and husband Gary of Georgetown, Ohio; one son - Dr. Mark S. Roberto and wife Dr. Janet Marie of Springfield, Ohio; six grandchildren - Nicholas Layman, Stephanie Allen, Jason Layman, Anne Sayre, Natalie Ring and E. Samuel Roberto; four sisters - Anne LaRocco, Grace Stump and Rita Brumbaugh all of Canton, Ohio and Sandra Cicari of Indianapolis, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Arnheim, Ohio. Rev. Roger Lawrence will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 P.M. Friday at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Interment will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the Doris M.
