Cynthia Ann (Faris) Pendley

Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Faris Pendley, 75, passed away on February 16th, 2023.

Born in Ripley, Ohio, she was the daughter of Betty and Russell Faris. Personally, she was a constant positive presence in the lives of her friends and family. She was a loving mother, Gigi, sister, aunt, and friend. Anyone who had met her would describe her as kind, fun, fiercely loyal, and hospitable. She was also know for her "world famous" chicken marsala and rum cake.

Professionally, Cindy was a dedicated nurse and empowering leader. Cindy worked as a perioperative nurse for 46 years. She was proud of the hospitals she served during her career: Jewish Hospital and Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio; Cypress Community Hospital in Pompano Beach, Florida; St. Francis Hospital and Ralph H Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina; Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida; and Mease Dunedin Hospital in Dunedin, Florida. After serving as Nurse Manager of Surgical Services at Mease Dunedin Hospital for 23 years, she served as a consultant in interim director roles - lending her experience and expertise to the surgical services departments of Union Hospital of Cecil County in Elkton, Maryland and Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, Arizona.

Cindy is survived by her daughter Kristen and Ryan (son-in-law) Frack; her brother, Jon Faris (Diana); her sister in law, Sue Faris; as well as three grandchildren, Owen Frack, Meredith Frack, and Claire Frack; along with a host of extended family members and friends.

She is preceded by her parents, Betty and Russell, her brothers, Albert R (Sonny) Faris and William Jeffrey Faris, and her sister, Shirley Jean Faris.

A visitation will be held on March 4th, from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens and a Memorial Service on March 5th, at 5:00PM at Skycrest United Methodist Church.

There will be a service in Ripley, Ohio on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. A visitation will be held at 1:00PM and a service at 2:00PM at Centenary United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow the funeral service in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.
