Clay M. Hayes

Claunver Moran “Clay” Hayes, age 92 of Georgetown, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a retired Cargo Ship Captain, a United States Korean War Amy veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #506 in Morganton, North Carolina. Clay was born July 15, 1931 in Maxine, West Virginia the son of the late Lewis Gilbert and Margaret Ellen (Beaver) Hayes. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Wiliams) Hayes in 2010, one son, two daughters and five brothers and sister.

Mr. Hayes is survived by two step-daughters – Beverly Ferguson of Bethel, Ohio and Ann Hayes of Mt.Orab, Ohio; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Clay’s wishes were to be cremated with no services. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
