Cecil D. Gilliam, age 82 of Georgetown, Ohio died Sunday, August 12, 2007 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Gilliam was retired from General Motors, a member of the U.A.W. and served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was born on January 31, 1925 in Pennington Gap, Virginia, the son of the late John Henry and Betsy Lee (Fleenor) Gilliam.
Mr. Gilliam is survived by his wife - Bobbie (Spangler-Carter) Gilliam; two daughters - Doris Schwartz and husband Fred of Georgetown, Ohio and Sherrie Lynn Gilliam of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons - Robert Cecil Gilliam and wife Karen of Kansas City, Kansas and Cecil D. Gilliam of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren; one great grandson and three brothers - Bernard Gilliam of Georgetown, Ohio and Clyde and Walter Gilliam both of Tennessee.
Following cremation, a graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. Veteran services will be provided by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
