Betty Jane Hines

Betty Jane Hines, age 74 of Higginsport, Ohio, died Monday, February 28, 2005 at her residence. She was a homemaker and worked at Shoozees in Higginsport for many years. Mrs. Hines was born on November 24, 1931 in Mt. Olivet, Kentucky the daughter of the late Hargis and Maggie (Shields) Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Hines, one brother, Robert Thompson and four sisters - Hazel McKenzie, Josie Blair, Marjorie Thompson and Janet Thompson.

Mrs. Hines is survived by four daughters - Donna Sullivan of Aberdeen, Ohio; Pamela Whisman of Georgetown, Ohio; Loretta Anderson and husband, Jeff of Goshen, Ohio and Carol Hines of Higginsport, Ohio; one son, Dave Hines and wife Paula of Georgetown, Ohio; four granddaughters - Melinda Chapman and husband Scott of Columbus, Ohio; Nichole Whisman, Tiffany Hines and Cassandra Starrett; one brother, Gordon Thompson of Georgetown, Ohio; three sisters - Jean Ohl of Ashland, Ohio; Nell Waits of Ripley, Ohio and Sylvia Carter of Norwood, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Clark Castle will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 2 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Shinkle's Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: The Ripley Life Squad.
