Arthur Jackson Dakin, age 96 of Ripley, Ohio died Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Anderson Mercy Hospital in Anderson Township, Ohio. He was a retired factory worker, a United States WWII Army veteran and a member of the Hamersville Baptist Church and the Felicity VFW. Arthur was born January 30, 1925 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Forest Emerson and Grace Ida (Blatt) Dakin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Thelma (Hughes) Dakin in 1991, two sons – Arthur and Mark Dakin, one great granddaughter – Jasmine Flora, six brothers – Ray, Fred, Billy, David, Charles and Melvin and three sisters – Nellie, Jenny and Louise.

Mr. Dakin is survived by two daughters – Ann Metzger and husband Ralph of Felicity, Ohio and Lori Godby and husband John of Ripley, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren – Faye Caserey, Christopher Dakin, Kyle Dakin, Danny Dakin, Angela Weckbach, Regina Norris, Steven Jones, Donnie Flora, James Jones, Rodney Flora, Norman Flora, Jennifer Andriot, Jessica Chaliandros, Todd Metzger and Craig Metzger; numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Hamersville Baptist Church, 1661 State Route 125, Hamersville, Ohio 45130 followed by military service by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180 of Georgetown, Ohio. Rob Farber and Delbert Shalabach will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in the Graceland Memorial Gardens in Milford, Ohio. Face mask will be required and social distancing guidelines will be followed. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
