Arnold Hines

Mr. Arnold Hines, age 77 of Higginsport, Ohio died Friday, October 15, 2004 at The Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was a United States Army World War II veteran. After serving his country he returned home to serve his community for many years as a police officer in both Higginsport and Ripley, Ohio. He was also a retired school bus driver for the Ripley school system. Mr. Hines was born on October 23, 1926 in Utopia, Ohio the son of the late George and Mae (Laypool) Hines. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Bradford and Gladys Hines; and two brothers, Garland Hines and George Hines.

Mr. Hines is survived by his wife, Betty Jane (Thompson) Hines of Higginsport, Ohio; four daughters - Donna Sullivan of Aberdeen, Ohio, Pamela Whisman of Georgetown, Ohio, Loretta Anderson and husband Jeff of Goshen, Ohio and Carol Hines of Higginsport, Ohio; one son, Dave Hines and wife Paula of Georgetown, Ohio; four granddaughters, Melinda Chapman and husband Scott of Columbus, Ohio, Nichole Whisman, Tiffany Hines and Cassandra Starrett.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Clark Castle will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday, October 18, 2004 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Shinkle's Ridge Cemetery with military services provided by American Legion Post # 367 of Ripley, Ohio. If desired memorials may be made to the Ripley Life Squad.
